We got a King bed which meant we needed a new headboard! Our house is a 1960s brick ranch with little rooms. Getting a King bed means our room is literally a BEDroom with space for a small dresser, two bedside tables, and the bed. But we’ve wanted a King bed for a while so it’s totally worth it! We don’t have the space for a big bed frame or headboard so we were limited in out headboard search. We decided we needed a simple bedframe with a headboard that wouldn’t stick out too much since space is a premium. Continue reading “$100 Upholstered Velvet King Sized Headboard”

DIY Marquee Light Letters
I love marquee lights and wanted to use them in my wedding decor but don’t like the price tag attached to them. Thanks to 1,000+ Pins on Pinterest, I found inspiration to make my own Marquee lights. These bad boys are 23.5″ tall, took about three hours total to make, and cost $40 for the set. I’ve seen Marquee lights on Etsy for $65/letter and definitely didn’t want to pay $260 for these.
DIY Statement Wall Art
In two days and with $50 cash, I made this statement wall art.

DIY Wire End Table
A few months ago, I wanted a new end table but didn’t want to pay major buck$ for one. I loved the look of this table made by the UK company, Dare Studio, but at £479 and up, I was not about to buy one. SO I made one for about $40!
DIY Copper Plated Steel Decorative Sphere
My latest and greatest project is these copper plated decorative spheres. I made them for $7 total and they took about 30 minutes to make. I got the Pinsperation from the blog, Retropolitanhip which gives a great step-by-step tutorial. She used galvanized steel, I used copper plated steel but the steps were very similar.

DIY Large Wood Frame $13
DIY Large Wood Frame
My building manager offered to paint an accent wall so I took the opportunity to make my fireplace pop and my mantle more pronounced. A large empty frame took some serious real estate on the wall. I couldn’t find an inexpensive one so I made this for about $13. (I also made the stocking hangers and re-vamped the vase and sticks. Details on those to come!)
DIY Nesting Storage Boxes
I’ve seen a whole bunch of Pins on Pinterest for “Kate Spade inspired storage boxes” and thought I’d try it myself. It was easy and looks great! I made one box for about $4 which is a whole lot better than $54 for three boxes from Kate Spade.
DIY $5 Leather Keychain
I wanted an inexpensive and heartfelt gift to give this holiday season and decided on leather keychains. They’re very easy, take about 10 mins to make, and cost less than $5!

DIY Suet Bird Feeders
This weekend I made suet bird feeders and am planning to give them as holiday gifts! They took 10 minutes to make and two hours to cool.
